DJI is the world leader in drone development and manufacture. Da-Jiang Innovations was founded in 2006 by Frank Wang and is based in Shenzhen, nicknamed China's Silicon Valley. From a one-room office, they have rapidly grown into an international company employing more than 3,000 people in China, the USA, Japan, Germany and the Netherlands.
Their range of unmanned multi-rotor aircraft is the market leader and they were the first to introduce brushless gimbal camera stabilisers and autopilots to the mass market. DJI continue to innovate, currently pioneering a collision avoidance system for drones.
DJI's extremely popular Phantom quadcopter range has dominated the market for consumer camera drones but they also produce high-end hexacopters and octocopters which are capable of lifting heavier, professional TV cameras.
