BrightEye UAV LED light Panel

The DL250 drone light modules are created to push limits and maximize the potential in LED technology and optical performance. DL250 is developed with focus on low weight, high power and minimal physical dimension. The lenses are delivered in a range from 10 to 60 degrees.

 

Discharge Protection

The BrightEye LED has integrated low voltage cut-off to protect your battery from deep discharge. During operation/load, the battery voltage will decrease. When it has declined to 20,5VDC, the maximum light output will be limited to 10%. When the voltage reaches 19,5V the light will automatically turn off. When the voltage increases past 22V, the controller will allow 100% output.

IP 54 rated for harsh environmental use, with integrated low voltage cut-off projection to ensure flight safety. The LED panels also have overheat protection to prevent damage through excessive temperatures.

 

Overheat Protection

The BrightEye LED Panel has integrated an overheat protection system. To prevent excessive temperatures and damage to the LED’s, the BrightEye LED Panel automatically dims down to decrease the temperature to an acceptable level. The BrightEye LED make use of relative wind and propwash for cooling, but will not be damaged if cooling is not present.

Stray light or scattered light will provide illumination also beyond the given light beam angle, which may be helpful to keep in mind when the beam angle is chosen. 

The height of the drone can be increased which will cause a “Spot 20” @ 60m to illuminate the same ground area as an “Medium 40” @ 30m. With this in mind it is recommended to choose the narrower beam. 

 

Control Interface

The BrightEye LED can be controlled in two different ways: 

A standard RC PWM interface is prepared (orange wire). PWM frequencies from 50-1000Hz (with 3-5V amplitude) is accepted, hence the light module can be controlled as a standard RC servo or an electronic speed controller (ESC). The light can be turn on and off, or dimmed continuously from 0-100%. 

 

If a PWM-signal is not available on the aircraft, a potentiometer on the secondary input (green wire) can control the light intensity. If this is required, the PWM-input wire must be connected to common control/ground.
