This policy explains how The Bionic Eye Limited ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data. It covers thebioniceye.co.uk, shop.thebioniceye.co.uk, cleaningbydrone.com and farmingbydrone.com, and any enquiry, booking or order you make with us.

2. The data we collect

  • Contact details: name, company, job title, email address, telephone number and address.
  • Enquiry and booking details: the information you give us in forms, such as the type of work you carry out, typical building height, site postcode and preferred dates, and demonstration bookings.
  • Order and account details: products purchased, delivery and billing addresses, and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment providers and are not stored by us.
  • Equipment and diagnostic data: flight logs and diagnostic data from equipment you send us for repair or warranty assessment.
  • Website usage data: pages visited, device and browser information, and how you reached our site, including which advert or campaign referred you.


3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to run our websites and, with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies to understand how our sites are used and which adverts are effective. A cookie banner asks for your choice when you first visit, and you can change it at any time. Non-essential cookies are not set unless you accept them.


5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract, including:

  • Shopify, for our online shop and order processing
  • HubSpot, for our customer records, website forms, meeting bookings and email
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection on our forms
  • Payment providers, to process payments
  • Xero, for accounting
  • Advertising platforms, including OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads), to measure advert performance where you have consented to advertising cookies
  • Couriers, to deliver orders

We may also share data with professional advisers, or where the law requires it.


6. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

 

7. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to 2 years from our last contact with you.
  • Customer, order and accounting records: 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe. We then keep a record of your opt-out so we do not contact you again.

 

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to erase it, restrict or object to our use of it, and receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@thebioniceye.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

 

9. Children

Our websites and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
